MSMH hosted a Volunteer Training on Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. The session focused on Medical Resources and provided information for accessing services in our area. Speakers included Lynda Riley with San Jose Clinic, Bianca DeLeon and Irene Lawrence with Harris County Hospital District, and Dick Nye with Gateway to Care. For those who could not attend, we will have video clips posted at RSVP to Trish this week!

MSMH's Operation ID is working to get out the word that DPS requirements for Texas IDs and Drivers' Licenses will change on May 7, 2012. All new applicants will now be required to show proof of domicile in Texas. More particulars are available from Texas Department of Public Safety along with documents and forms that can be used.

MSMH honored the first recipients of our Good Neighbor Awards at the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on April 20: Mark Carleton (Headmaster) and Amy Smith (Chaplain), both on staff at Presbyterian School, along with Michael Moses (ECI's chef for First Presbyterian Church), were honored for their donations of food toward Holy Ground's Thursday night meals over the past year. Additionally, we honored Jill Aremband, Director of Information, Technology, and Office Services at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, for her donations of 40 gently used computers and monitors, with printers and desks, allowing Nehemiah Ministries to outfit five computer labs for kids. We also honored Fielding Cocke and Richard Colt (Co-owners of JAVA PURA), who donated bags and bags of coffee all year. Finally, we recognized Ryan Blackwell and Kyle Judah: Ryan designed, financed, and installed the beautiful Prayer Garden at the entrance to our building; as a follow-up project, Kyle purchased and installed pavers to replace the foot-worn grass areas. Our heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to each of these wonderful folks! Pictures are now posted -- just click on the event title above!

The next Communion offering benefitting MSMH will be June 10; check out our Events page for other important dates!
