Operation ID
PUBLIC NOTICE: Effective May 7, 2012, the Texas Department of Public Safety
is requiring proof of domicile in Texas for all new applicants for a Texas ID or
Driver's License. More information is available from the Texas DPS website.
Operation ID, an all-volunteer ministry, is a non-profit organization that
helps the homeless, the indigent, and those recently released from prison to
regain their identity so they can begin the transition back into society.
For over 30 years, about 7,000 clients annually have been referred to us
for help in obtaining a photo ID and/or birth certificate that has been
lost or stolen. Without these documents, it is now impossible to apply
for work, housing, credit, social services, or to enroll children in
school. Volunteer opportunities exist for interviewers, computer operators,
and administrative support personnel.
We are open most Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
For information on what clients need to access our services, go to What to Bring;
a map to our location is available at Where to Come. For other general information, you can call
(281) 833-3508 or email us at .
If you are interested in volunteering for this ministry, positions are listed on
Operation ID's
VOLUNTEER page. You can also contact Phil Pierce at (281) 833-3506,
or e-mail him at
for further information.
