care for those facing crisis situations
- First responders, now serving over 1,200 clients per year
- Refers clients to over 200 other organizations and agencies in the Houston area
- Provides referrals & limited financial aid for rent, utilities,
transportation, and other basic needs
Holy Ground – supporting Houston’s poor
- Weekly Bible study & pot-luck dinner, now serving approximately 150
people per meeting
- Directs our guests to Christ-centered solutions for life's struggles
- Provides limited assistance for transportation, food, and clothing needs
Houston Community Voice Mail – keeping the homeless
connected
- Begun at FPC in 1995, the first Texas center for Community Voice Mail & the twelfth nationwide
- Offers local numbers linked to a voice mail service for those without a telephone
- Provides second step toward employment, housing, social services & school enrollment
Nehemiah Ministries – replicating a proven model of success in after-school care
- Free mentoring & consulting to churches wishing to create new “Nehemiah Centers”
- Proven plan of action, from initial idea through “opening day” and beyond
- Provides a wealth of knowledge and experience, both spiritual and technical
Administration – documentation required for compliance with non-profit regulation
- Data entry, bookkeeping, and records management
Must be accurate and up-to-date for fund-raising, grants, and government regulation
- Provides metrics needed to remain abreast of trends, for best future planning & governance
