About the MSM Garden

The Main Street Ministries Garden, located within walking distance from the Texas Medical Center, is a natural sanctuary in our urban setting that glorifies God’s creation while creating a beautiful space for community building and healing!

Volunteers from diverse backgrounds and various stages of life harvest relationships and spiritual fruits as they work together in our garden to grow vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers year-round using sustainable gardening methods.

HOW IS PRODUCE IN THE GARDEN USED?

Fresh flowers, herbs and produce are harvested and packaged into "Healing Harvest" care boxes that are made available on a weekly basis, free of cost, for Texas Medical Center patients and their caregivers.

Eating healthy can be time consuming and a financial burden for the caregiver and the patient.  Our Healthy Healing Boxes are a gesture of love to those in the midst of a health crisis; they appeal to a variety of sense as they promote healing and ease the financial burden of purchasing fresh produce.  In addition to serving individual patients and families, Main Street Ministries Garden partners with Church Apartment Ministry, a coalition of 10 Houston churches that serves TMC patients and families by providing affordable furnished apartments near the TMC for those receiving long term medical treatment.

Main Street Ministries Garden welcomes patients to visit the garden to simply relax in its peaceful setting or to volunteer.
