Barbara Allen Named Executive Director of

Main Street Ministries Houston

November 20, 2019-Main Street Ministries Houston (MSM) announced that Barbara Allen is its new Executive Director effective December 4, 2019.

DPS Announces Temporary Storm-related Changes

AUSTIN – At the direction of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will implement cost-saving measures for residents who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The changes will affect driver license (DL) duplicates and Driver Responsibility Program (DRP) surcharges for residents who live in one of the counties that have received a gubernatorial disaster declaration. 

DPS will provide a no-cost replacement DL or ID card for residents in the impacted counties through October 27, provided they had previously been issued a Texas DL or ID card. Customers living in …

MSM’s OpID Director, Phil Pierce, has worked for over three years to draft a Texas Senate Bill that could change the fate of some ex-offenders who are released with no ability to obtain a legal state issued ID. Texas Senate Bill 581 was passed by the Senate and is now in the House.
