MSM Celebrates 1st Family Hope Graduation

Light was the theme of MSM's first ever Family Hope graduation. Beautiful hand-made decorations, the music of the Salvation Army's Harbor Light Choir, and an inspiring message by Pastor Jim Birchfield combined to create the perfect atmosphere to celebrate God's goodness and the hard work of the graduates on this special evening.

Testimonies from graduates gave voice to the power in Christ to transform lives and the value of a safe, supportive community to strengthen our faith and bring hope and stability to our families. It was truly a joyful evening to celebrate all the accomplishments of the past nine months.

What each family gained from the experience can best be described by the graduates themselves.
Words from Our Graduates:
"Family HOPE has given me the very tools both spiritually and naturally to get through the past six months. As I moved from shelter to hotel to a family member's house to my own place, Family HOPE walked right with me.  The support of Ms. Hartzog and the great big hug I received each week we met, is truly priceless! I am privileged to be a part of this ministry that is changing lives for generations to come."
"Being in Family HOPE has helped my family communicate with each other better. It helped us talk about how to reach for our goals and how to lift up each other."
"Family HOPE has brought me hope by bringing to my attention: 1) I am not alone, and 2) ideas and information I wasn't aware of or hadn't noticed. When a lot of major decisions need to be made, you're the only one coming up with answers, and you don't have anyone to talk to. These decisions can become overwhelming at times and the simplest solution can go unrealized if it isn't brought to your attention by someone else. Family HOPE has given me people to talk to, people to bring to my attention those simple solutions. It just makes life seem not as bad and gives me hope that I will make it, it will be alright, and it's not even as difficult as I was making it out to be."
"Being part of Family HOPE has changed my family by broadening our vision, strengthening our family unit and increasing our circle of friends! We have built lifelong friends that have walked this road of uncertainty and crossed an amazing bridge, a bridge that is leading us to places that were only dreams. A place that will call the attention to Christ and change our community forever!"

"Family HOPE has brought me hope to believe that I can make it, that I can make a difference in my family life, and that I can make a difference in my community. HOPE that not only can I change myself, but my city."
