Whistleblower Policy

MSM requires board, employees, and volunteers to observe high standards of business and personal ethics in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities.  Employees and representatives of the organization must practice honesty and integrity in fulfilling their responsibilities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

The objectives of the MSM Whistleblower Policy are to establish policies and procedures for the following:

  • The submission of concerns regarding questionable accounting, audit, or general operating policy matters by employees, directors, officers, volunteers, and other stakeholders of the organization, on a confidential and anonymous basis.
  • The receipt, retention, and treatment of complaints received by the organization regarding reported matters.
  • The protection of directors, volunteers, and employees reporting concerns from retaliatory actions.

The Executive Committee has the primary responsibility for investigating suspected misconductanid is responsible for making appropriate recommendations to the Board of Directors.  Investigation into suspected misconduct will be performed without regard to the suspected individual’s position, length of service, or relationship with the Organization.

Record Retention Policy

Main Street Ministires retains records as required by law and destroys them when appropriate. The destruction of records must be approved by the Executive Director and logged into the organization’s Destroyed Records Log. Donor Privacy Policy

We will not sell, trade, or share donor information that we collect either online or offline with anyone else. Donor information includes names, email addresses, physical addresses and phone numbers.

We will not send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

We will only share donor information if given specific permission to do so.

We will collect payment information, billing address, and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration.

We will use information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us, protect and defend our rights, or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others.

We will use the donor information to protect against potential fraud. We may verify with third parties the information collected in the course of processing a gift, event registration, or other donation. If a donor uses a credit or debit card, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that the card information and address matches the information supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Changes to This Donor Privacy Policy 

If we change our donor privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If we change our policy about how we plan to use personally identifiable information, we will post a notice on our web site within thirty days.
